STEM Summer School 2026

Every summer can be different. STEM Summer School at Knowledge Tree International School is a 5-week programme where children build, explore, experiment, and solve real problems — in mixed-age teams, with dedicated mentors, and a themed field trip every week. There are no worksheets and no separately taught subjects. There is one big question per week and enough time to truly explore it.

Week 1 · How do we build something that lasts?

29 June – 4 July · Applied physics, engineering, mathematics. Children design, test, and iterate — and take a trip to Brașov's Old Town to see how builders answered this question centuries ago.

Week 2 · What do we know about surviving on another planet?

7 – 11 July · Science, geography, systems planning, aerodynamics. Field trip to the National Romanian Aviation Museum in Bucharest.

Week 3 · What can nature teach us?

14 – 18 July · Biology, chemistry, ecology, scientific method. Field outing: botany and pattern hunting below Tâmpa.

Week 4 · The robot — how can we understand it?

21 – 25 July · Algorithms, programming, artificial intelligence, digital ethics. Field trip to the Brașov Science Museum.

Week 5 · The future depends on you!

28 – 31 July · Synthesis, design thinking, prototyping, public presentation. Visit to an Ecodome sustainable-house exhibition. The week ends with a final showcase open to parents and guests, where each team presents their project.

Daily schedule

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday — STEM activities on the week's theme. Tuesday — themed field trip. Friday — nature outing or outdoor activity. 09:00 – 14:30, every day.

Who it's for

Children aged 6 to 13 (Early Years – Year 7). Groups are intentionally mixed-age. Older children become resources for younger ones; younger ones bring unexpected perspectives. Everyone gains something different from this dynamic. Places are limited so we can work in small groups and give each child real attention.
